Amanda, Oliver and Louisa Burn for Lauren is fundraising for
This Sunday 26 May, Oliver, Louisa and I will join Oliver and Louisa's cousin, Lauren Channon, tackling the Balmoral Burn for the very first time. Lauren is Humpty Dumpty Foundation's Junior Ambassador and she is an inspiration to us. In her 11 short years Lauren has faced 130 surgeries. You might recall that over summer 2017-2018 Lauren spent nearly 4 months in Sydney Children's Hospital and Louisa and I visited her regularly to help her through the long days and nights. Lauren is one of the bravest people we know. Lauren's life has been saved on countless occasions by medical equipment paid for by the Humpty Dumpty Foundation. From the time she was the tiniest little baby to her most recent stay in hospital. Humpty Dumpty turns kind people's donations into equipment that keeps precious children alive. So next Sunday we'll be putting on our sports shoes, taking a deep breath and walking the big hill with Lauren, her amazing family and supporters. We'll be raising money for Humpty Dumpty. Those of you who know me, know that I'm happier on a bike and not one for fund raising. But this is the first time that Lauren has been well enough to make it up the hill and we'll be beside her. To everyone who has donated so far, thank you! Thanks for supporting Lauren's quest to raise money for other kids just like her and the life saving equipment they need. Here's the start of a nice little story about Lauren and Ray Martin. Ray is a Humpty Dumpty Ambassador but has never participated in the Balmoral Burn. But Lauren wouldn't take no for an answer this year. If she was doing it, Ray was doing it, so we're all doing it!
